Mr M.V. Molele is a
writer as well a teacher.
He holds several degrees from different universities. His
highest being a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Creative Writing For Film
and Television. He obtained this degree from the reputable
University of Sheffield in the UK in 2001. The title of his essay
for the said study was; A
narrative: A study of
Fools: realism, the
screen and a postmodernist. This study was based on an
adaptation of Njabulo Ndebele's Novella, Fools into a
screenplay by Suleman Ramadan.
As a further
requirement for the completion of this degree, he wrote a feature
length screenplay. Immediately after the completion of his
studies, he wrote and co-produced a short
movie, Mirror Mirror was screened both on SABC and M-Net.
Mr Molele’ s
other qualification in the field of media includes a Diploma in
Creative Writing, obtained from Hollywood Institute of
Scriptwriting in 1997. Here, as well he completed another
full-length feature script.
Mr Molele has
additional degrees from other universities. He obtained a B.A from
The University of South Africa (Unisa) i. After this, he obtained
two additional degrees from the then University Of The North, (Unin)
currently The University of Limpopo. H.
Not only is Mr
Molele an academic, he is a publisher/writer as well. He published
a number of books that he wrote. Two of his dramatic texts, Magadi
and Khokheine are prescribed for schools in Limpopo while the
other, Umdlwembe is prescribed in KZN.
Few books later followed, namely Sphaya K Mapai , a
Sepedi novel which was translated into IsiZulu screenplay called,
Umdlwembe. Sphaya K Mapai was nominated for the Mnet Literary
Awards in 2008.
His other novel,
Marabe o Jewa ke bana an adaptation from his screenplay, The
Missing Piece was shortlisted for the same Awards in 2009 in the
film category. Molele has also written another another dramatic
text called Batho ba a lebala. In 1988, Mr Molele also contributed
a drama piece called Head Transplant to Turfwrite, a Creative
Writing Journal of The University of The North. In addition to the
afore-mentioned publications, he wrote a number of unsolicited
film scripts, among them He Raped Me and the Smell of
Human Flesh. He
has also written a movie-script, The Missing piece which
was adapted into a novel called Marabe o jewa ke bana .Ba
tla kwa ka mang? is one of several of radio serials he wrote,
that was produced by Thobela F.M. This serial is the only one that
was ever played by the said station three times by popular demand.
Some of the serials he wrote include Sidio, Faseng la
Dimakatso and Stoki.
In addition to
the serials, he penned a number of play-lets for radio, one of
which, called Ke Moya was selected and included with the
other four play-lets to constitute a book called Ditswamaphotomoyeng.
His
latest drama serial, Nomoro Ya Lesome ka 2010, has presented to
Thobela F.M for broadcast.The Sermon, is his monthly periodical.
The first issue of the Sermon is called Pastors From Hell.
Mr
Molele has also written and produced a feature length comedy
called Mr Sawetan which was flighted on Soweto TV, Bay TV. Heads
or Tails, his other movie, which is a tragic version of the ever
popular comedy Dinner For One is in post production.
